Our staff travels thousands of miles each year to help students learn to be caretakers of the environment.

We require Instructors to have a 4-year college degree in any subject, but we especially look for staff who hold degrees in related fields of study, such as biology, environmental education, or recreation.

Activities

Staff members lead hikes, teach science, and help students build self-confidence with archery, team building, climbing, night hikes, and more!

We also have fun with dance nights, camp songs, skits, campfire stories, and games.

Travel

Our team takes immense pride in fostering personal and professional growth among our staff members.

Our welcoming culture creates an environment of inclusivity and camaraderie among the staff members, who often develop long-lasting friendships with each other by the end of the season.

While most staff members work at our main site in Crestline, we also operate programs across California and Oregon, allowing them to travel and explore new places. They typically work on 1-4 week rotations, which include housing and meals.

Things to Do

Our employees enjoy having weekends off to explore the beautiful state of California. You can spend one weekend walking across the lowest elevation point in the world at Death Valley, and the next weekend exploring the largest trees in the world at Sequoia National Park.

Our main site is Thousand Pines Camp, located in the San Bernardino National Forest, which offers stunning views and exciting trails to discover. You can easily plan a day trip to any of the beaches from San Diego to Santa Barbara. If you prefer city life, Los Angeles is just a short drive down the mountain.

Staying in town can be just as enjoyable, as Crestline provides access to welcoming coffee shops, lakes, trails, mom & pop shops, and restaurants. Our staff loves to carpool and head out for the next adventure almost every weekend.
